Your new role
Due to a high demand of exciting highway drainage, flood alleviation and SuDS projects, they are now looking for a Drainage Engineer to join the team. This is an active and varied role that will see you assisting with project delivery and management, ensuring new projects are delivered to the highest quality standard.
In short you will
- Be responsible for management, scheduling, and supervision of cyclic (including annual gully cleaning programme), planned and reactive and emergency drainage activities on the contract
- Liaison with client on drainage and providing recommendations for drainage solutions to known issues, including flooding
- Create Works Orders on Confirm (client asset management system) and receipt of same on Causeway (contractors works order management system)
- Hold responsibility for completion of tasks on Causeway
- Communicate with the commercial team to instruct subcontractors to carry out works and to provide information to enable Works Orders to be measured and applications for payment to be made to the client
- Provide weekly reports on works completed
- Notify Highways Inspectors on drainage issues
A bit about you
Alongside a willingness to join the team and get stuck in, the successful Drainage Engineer will need to embody the company’s core values of cooperation and partnership. Furthermore, you should have:
- A relevant civil engineering or environmental degree
- Experience with drainage maintenance (cyclic, reactive, repairs, design ECI)
- Knowledge in highways drainage and design of SuDS
- Ability to integrate into a team and liaise with clients
- Previous Drainage Engineer experience
