As the Highways Contracts Manager you will be tasked with leading and motivating the contracts team. You will play a key role within the organisation helping to develop business strategies to position the company as a provider of choice.

Your new role

As the Highways Contracts Manager you will be tasked with leading and motivating the contracts team. You will play a key role within the organisation helping to develop business strategies to position the company as a provider of choice.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for;

  • Overall responsibilities for service delivery – ensuring client requirements are met through the development of the business strategy/plan and core processes.
  • To build and maintain key client relationships based on a partnership approach and promote a client focused culture throughout the commission.
  • Deliver a variety of highways services such as reactive defect repairs including (FW, CW & Street Lighting)
  • Manage cyclic gully cleansing, winter gritting and road marking.
  • Lead the delivery of minor structure repairs.
  • Establish clear lines of communication through the team, defining roles and responsibilities in order to ensure efficient use of resources.

About you

Alongside your proven leadership and strong people management skills.

The Highways Contracts Manager should be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working on Highway Schemes
  • Broad knowledge of Borough Road Network Management
  • Business acumen – able to demonstrate significant improvements in efficiencies / costs in previous roles.
  • Experience of consulting engineering, blue collar contracting organisations and negotiating with trade unions effectively where required
  • Development of an innovative business culture and delivery of successful business improvement initiatives.
  • Professional approach and effective role model for the Company’s values and culture
