The role

As Principal Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in the planning, development, and optimization of transportation systems and networks. You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals to analyse data, assess transportation needs, and develop strategies to enhance transportation efficiency and sustainability.

In short you will

  • Develop and implement strategic transport plans that align with the company's objectives and client needs
  • Lead and manage complex transport engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of transport engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with transportation projects, ensuring a proactive approach to problem-solving.

 

About you

You must have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in transport planning and modelling software, traffic engineering, and sustainable transportation practices.
  • Foster collaboration with internal teams, external consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure holistic project success.
  • Take responsibility for project budgets, including financial planning, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and future strategies for the transport engineering department
