As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage the commercial resources of assigned projects, providing commercial expertise across contracts, including valuation submissions, budgets, subcontract management, change control, and workstream performance data.

Your New Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage the commercial resources of assigned projects, providing commercial expertise across contracts, including valuation submissions, budgets, subcontract management, change control, and workstream performance data.

In short, you will:

  • Be involved with subcontract procurement and package management.

  • Run contract administration alongside the Project Manager and the supply chain.

  • Support MQS in producing value cost reconciliation reports.

  • Agree applications for payment and process payments.

  • Produce and maintain risk registers.

  • Raise and respond to Early Warning Notices & Compensation Events, closing them out through agreement.

About You

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for someone with solid technical acumen and experience in highways and public realm projects. You’ll ideally be degree-qualified (chartered preferred) with surveying experience within the utilities industry, and possess expertise in the NEC3 framework and Alliance Contract delivery.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong commercial awareness, with a focus on budgeting, cost control, risk mitigation, and business targets.

  • Proven ability to work within a team, ensuring business and commercial requirements are met at both project and business unit levels.

  • Strong knowledge of highway construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Expertise in NEC and JCT contracts.

  • Team management and leadership skills, ensuring efficient operations and project success.

  • Relevant civil engineering/quantity surveying degree or qualification.
